Hi, I'm Shayla

I'm the creator and owner of The Green Witches Facebook Page and The Green Witches Shoppe. I live in Waco, Texas, with my husband, three kiddos, three cats, two dogs, two lizards, a bird, and an axolotl (yes, we have too many animals).
I've worked in the mental health field for over ten years and have lived with depression, anxiety, and ADHD since high school. I’m a passionate advocate for the importance of open conversations, therapy, support, and medications.
When my mother passed in October 2022, I was left feeling lost and broken. I worked within myself to build and nurture the same love she had for plants, as a way to remain close to her. I immersed myself in caring for these houseplants and found joy in watching them grow and thrive.
I created The Green Witches Facebook group as a place to give and receive plant knowledge and to learn and ask without ridicule. This group, very quickly, also became a sanctuary for individuals seeking a safe space to be themselves without the hostility that comes along with telling people you practice the craft.
Whatever your belief, I'm glad that you've found your way to my little world. Thank you for your support of my small business (AKA, my mid-life crisis!)
