HI, I'M SHAYLA

I'm the creator of The Green Witches Facebook Page, the owner of The Green Witches Shoppe, and a practicing Pagan Christian Witch (yes, it IS a thing and we DO exist). I live in Waco, Texas, with my husband, three kiddos, three cats, two dogs, two lizards, two birds, and an axolotl (and yes, we have too many animals).
I've worked in the mental health field for over ten years and have lived with depression, anxiety, & ADHD since high school. I’m a passionate advocate for the importance of open conversations, therapy, medications, & support.
When my mother passed in October of 2022, I was left feeling lost and broken. As a way to remain close to her, I worked within myself to build and nurture the same love she had for plants. I immersed myself in caring for those houseplants and found joy in watching them thrive & grow.
I created The Green Witches Facebook group as a space to share & learn about plant knowledge and as a haven for people to ask questions without insults or ridicule. This group also, very quickly, became a sanctuary for individuals seeking a safe refuge to be themselves without the hate, hostility, & misunderstanding that comes along with practicing the craft.
Whatever your belief, I'm glad that you've found your way to my little world. Thank you for your support of my small business (AKA, my mid-life crisis).
